TWG 2025 Chengdu Kickboxing Official Draws

The President of World Association of Kickboxing Organizations, WAKO, Mr. Roy Baker met with members of the Brisbane32 organising committee at the end of July.   The meeting was held in the Brisbane32 HQ in Australia.  Mr. Baker was able, to present a short update of the sport of Kickboxing and its global presence and growth. The LOC representatives  that LOC team present where. Chief Sport Officer Kit McConnell, Director of Sport Brendan Keane,  Sport Analyst Kirsten Fisher-Marsters.   The  LOC team also presented to Mr Baker, the Brisbane Games vision, mission and process framework going forward. Following the meeting President Baker expressed his optimism and enthusiasm by stating, "With the worldwide popularity of K1 Kickboxing and the thriving market in Australia, Asia and Oceania markets, we are eager to showcase the best of what we can offer." He highlighted that K1 Kickboxing was shortlisted as one of the nine sports for LA28 games, which led to a thorough engagement and assessment by the LOC.  Mr. Baker and his team remain dedicated and motivated to pursue this ​again in the future, should the opportunity arise.  Baker said " we learnt a lot from LA28  process and the prestige and recognition of being shortlisted,  has given us great insight, motivation and understanding in to how, as a collective and a sport,  we can achieve this objective for our athletes in the future"    Kickboxing will be on the programme in the Chengdu World Games with the disciplines K1 Kickboxing and Point Fighting.   Any questions about this meeting can be addressed to President Roy Baker at president@kickboxing.sport .

This process is mandatory for all athletes who wish to compete at the World Championships. Only athletes with an official WAKO-certified sport class  will be eligible to participate. TO ALL WAKO MEMBERS   Dear Presidents and General Secretaries of WAKO National Federations,   by the present please find herewith attached the invitation letters for:   - Egypt Development Seminar  for athletes, coaches and officials - in Cairo (Egypt), from September 29th to October 1st, 2025 . - African Cup - Pyramids Battle International Cup 2025  - in Cairo (Egypt), from 1st to 6th October, 2025 .   This is the first time that a WAKO international   Development seminar  is organized in Egypt, on African continent, by WAKO IF, WAKO Africa and WAKO Egypt, with the aim of educating athletes, coaches and officials of Egypt, neighbouring Arab countries, in the African Federation, as well as of other national federations that will participate.   Also, for the first time on the African continent, organized by WAKO Egypt and WAKO Africa, the African Cup - Pyramids Battle International Cup 2025  is being held in Cairo, with the aim of further promoting kickboxing in Egypt and Africa. At the African Cup all participants in the Development Seminar will have the opportunity to put their newly acquired knowledge into practice. The African Cup is a ranking tournament and is an opportunity for gold and silver medalists in their categories to earn valuable points for the WAKO Ranking List.   Both events are open to all national federations from Africa, neighbouring Arab countries, as well as all other WAKO National Federations.
