Inspiring Para-Kickboxing Demonstration Shines at WAKO World Cup Turkish Open Antalya, Türkiye  – On the final day of the WAKO World Cup Turkish Open, the spotlight turned to a Para-Kickboxing demonstration  that captured the hearts of everyone present. Three young athletes, each with their own story of resilience and strength, took to the tatami in a special showcase. Two boys, Omer El Kars and Kusay lbrahim from Syria and Bertug Umut Ozdemir from Türkiye delivered   presentations, performing combat movements which were a testament to the spirit of inclusion, and unity. This demonstration was more than an exhibition — it was a statement. A reminder that kickboxing is a sport for all , and that the values of perseverance, passion, and discipline  know no boundaries. Their presence symbolized  the ongoing commitment of WAKO to promote accessibility and equal opportunities in kickboxing. Each of the young para-kickboxers received a well-deserved medal, handed out by WAKO Vice President Salim Kayici. The performance served as a highlight of the tournament’s final day and as a powerful closing note for the World Cup.

WAKO congratulates the newly elected IOC President, Mrs. Kirsty Coventry.She won knockout in the first election round.She is many firsts. The first female IOC President,the first from Africa,the youngest IOC President in History, at 41 years.Her career in the IOC is exceptional, she is a former Chairwoman of the IOC Athlete Committee and a multiple Olympic Champion in Swimming.Mrs. Coventry is currently serving as the Minister of Youth, Sport, Arts and Recreation in the Cabinet of Zimbabwe, since September 2018.She will enter the IOC office on 23 June 2025.
